VDI Tooling
In today's demanding manufacturing environments, fast changeover and set-up times are essential in order to maximise machine tooling production. VDI live tooling contributes to this objective and can add many hours of productive capacity to a machine shop operation.
The main principle behind the VDI tooling system is a quick-change clamping method for each CNC tool holder. VDI tool changes can therefore be performed within seconds, rather than within minutes as with the traditional block system. The toolholder can also be pre-set away from the lathe on a pre-setter. The VDI live tool holder therefore provides an accurate and rapid method of attaching tools to the turret plates with the typical changeover time for a pre-set VDI tool holder of around fifteen seconds.
BMT Base Mount Tooling
TDT Technology offer a comprehensive array of BMT (Base Mount Tool) driven tooling and tool holders with coupling diameters; BMT 45, BMT 55, BMT 65, BMT 75, and BMT 85 and with a choice of either radial or axial head configurations. All units use the classic collet chuck holder which adheres to industry standard DIN 6499 and incorporate an internal and/or external coolant supply.
