Fidia has become a world-leader and true innovator of 5 Axis High Speed Machining Centres and has dedicated years of research to the development of CNC machine tools that have been, and continue to be, successfully operated throughout the world since the early 70s.

Whether it’s 5 axis machining or a 3+2 indexed axis operation, high speed means high cutting speeds and fast spindle rotation. The resulting high axis feeds can only be maintained by specially designed machining centres that can guarantee precision and surface quality simultaneously.

An initial benefit to utilising high-speed technology is a reduction in machining and manual finishing times. But high speed also means being able to machine very hard materials and thus simplify production cycles avoiding those time-consuming mid-operations imposed by conventional machining.

The D218, D318 and D418 – 5 Axis High Speed Machining Centres are designed for, but not limited to, the following applications:

  • Finishing of plastic injection moulds and die manufacturing
  • Production of aeronautical and automotive structural parts in aluminium and titanium
  • Machining of graphite electrodes and prototype resin model making components
  • Accurate machining of complex parts such as tyre moulds and turbine disk slots etc.
